Escarpment

The Kaiserstuhl district of Germany prizes Pinot Blanc for its spicy subtle fruit flavours and its ability to truly reflect its terroir. Escarpment Vineyard is excited to be able to release the first Pinot Blanc from its Te Muna Road Vineyard. We believe our site ideally suits Pinot Noir so feel a classic Pinot Blanc will result as well. An off dry style (5gms/L sugar) will certainly create some interesting wine/food pairings. Enjoy while young but this wine will age gracefully for a number of years. Escarpment

Pale gold colour with green hue. A vibrant nose of cut granny-smith apple, citrus, lees derived oatmeal complexity with a touch of malolactic butterscotch character all subtly weaving itself together perhaps reminding us of citrus curd or fresh Citron tart.

Very broad and weighty feel in the mouth with a crisp and very long finish. Complex thanks to the winemaking and a little bottle age, a wine well crafted and really quite different! The variety and Escarpment’s particular style with emphasis on richness and complexity has created a drink for those that love an interesting choice when it comes to their wine. Simon MWC
