Schubert Block B Pinot Noir 2009

Based on an assembly of the Dijon (Burgundy) pinot noir clones; 777, 667, 114, 115 & 113. The composition straight away offers the foundation for fantastic complexity with vibrant and deep aromas of strawberry, cherry and prune with clove & cinnamon spice. Very rich and full and layered on the palate, tightly structured with 18 months ageing in 50% new French oak contributing a toasted spice-bread character. Schubert Block B is an expression of the passion for pinot noir in the style of Cru level Burgundy with a New Zealand slant to the story showing power and elegance combined harmoniously. Very approachable now but with the structure to age 5+ from now (March 2012).
