Village Square
The Martinborough Wine Centre has in the last month stitched together an exciting new range of wines for our Village Square house label. All three are single vineyard wines wines from the 2009 vintage which capture the fine quality of Martinborough terroir and the passion of its boutique producers for the varities. Selected by us to over-deliver on quality for price we are delighted by what we have to offer.
2009 Village Square Chardonnay In the classic NZ chardonnay style; Barrel fermented with plenty of punchy stonefruit aroma & sesne of flavour. Broad & weighty on the palate with the complexing influence of lees ageing in the barrel. Superb value at $15.00 a bottle or $13.50 in a 12 bottle case.
2009 Village Square Pinot Gris Delicious, weighty and concentrated pinot gris from Te Muna Road, Martinborough. Very much in the style of Alsace pinot gris and produced to a medium dry level of sweetness. Powerful and complex. Great aperitif or meal wine. All to easy to enjoy so best bought by the case. $17.50 a bottle or $15.75 a bottle by the dozen
2009 Village Square Pinot Noir This is a lovely example not just of Martinborough pinot noir but pinot noir full stop! A lovely vibrant ruby colour, delicious strawberry & cherry aromas with real depth of flavour to the palate. The wine really expresses true pinot noir typicity & complexity that visitors to the wine centre are definitely being impressed by. We are very happy to be able to offer this wine at $20.00 a bottle or if purchased by the case $18.00.
